CTO, cervical collar with thoracic extension, immobilisation, prefabricated


The head is fixed in the correct position with pads concerning to a 3-point system on shoulders, chin and head. An additional thoracic support is added to get a better fitting.
Exists also as rigid metal adjustable cervical multiple-post collar utilising two to four vertical posts or supports with anterior and posterior extensions. Can also have an anterior plate beginning at the costal margin with adjustable metal struts extending over the shoulder, adjustable detachable mandible and occipital sections.
If all three metal bars lead from the sternal pad to the occiput (SOMI) the brace may be as put on while the patient lays in bed.
