KD-I, interface, suction socket with liner

Prosthetic interface to a knee disarticulation prosthesis which is a suction socket design to be combined with a liner. The suspension is based on suction.
The socket is made to extremely close tolerances and is suspended by suction. A special one way valve is placed into a distal area of the socket. The valve controls the pressure as well as the vacuum and keeps that within values that oedema does not occur.
The socket may be made from wooden, acrylic resin or thermoplastic.
The socket has to be combined with a liner. See elsewhere in the Nomenclature for liner details.
