LSO, stabilisation orthosis, static, custom made


Rigid corset that provides support and control of the pelvic and lumbar trunk in anterior/posterior motion as well as lateral motion. Different versions exist, such as:
* rigid frame from aluminium and uprights with leather or fabric with or without interface materials
* rigid dorsal sheet with ventral textile attachments.

Can be with or without additional soft lining materials for fitting and comfort.
Occasionally an additional thoracic support may be connected to avoid rotation or inclination of the thorax (see TLSO).
Custom fabricated from a model of the patient, interface material, includes casting and cast preparation.

Orthosis to immobilise the lumbar spine in anti-lordosis posture and to compensate for weak muscle activity in the lumbar spine region. Enabling execution of daily activities and participation in society.
To be applied in case the prefabricated version does not fit due to impairments of body functions and/or structures.
